Early Sunday morning I opened my computer to do some reading and writing to find an overnight message from my son in California – “Hey – sorry it’s late. Just saw the news and wanted to check in….”
Last month I wrote a post about respecting the need for self-determination, especially in the lives of people we serve. In any helping profession, it’s easy to see our clients, patients, and participants as people in need. Our language supports this as we speak of helping, supporting, healing, feeding, and even saving. Within these arenas, I’m exploring the question:
What if we treated those we serve as true partners?
Have you ever looked at a picture and thought you understood it, only to have someone else see something you completely missed?
Season of Forgiveness encourages and equips people to live happier, healthier, more productive lives through understanding and acceptance.
